New experiments for the extension of cardiological treatment (nursing): telephone EKG system. This would increase the number of work hours needed, because the EKGs sent to the headquarters - let that be normal, or pernicious - would be examined by a cardiologist. A little bit of mathematics: 1 million persons needing care, 1 EKG per week, in case of 3 minute diagnostics would equal to 50 thousand hours. If one thousand cardiologist would do the evaluation it would take 50 hours each week.

Following the mass cardiological status of patients cannot be solved in this fashion. Solution: the cardiologist should only deal with the patient, when it is needed, when a deterioration has begun. This prescreening is done by CARDY. According to our experience every twelfth EKG shows changes that should be followed by consultation with a specialist. On the bases of the prior example, if CARDY would only send these patients to the specialist, then the evaluation of the given information would take the cardiologists 4 hours 10 minutes per week, which is acceptable.

Today the cardiological treatment rests on the shoulders of cardiologists of which there are far too few. Quality change can be achieved by the widening of the humane side. Because there will not be an increase in the number of cardiologists, other physicians have to be involved in the cardiology treatment. We have programmed CARDY with the knowledge of the most well trained cardiologists, therefore the general physicians - family physicians - can take part in the cardiological treatment.

The know-how of the general public - on the side of technical knowledge - is growing. The practice of self-screening and self-checks must be increased. For this not only medical propaganda, but inexpensive and usable apparatus must be given.

CARDY acts as the catalyst in changing the traditional approach. The majority of the Hungarian population looks upon healthcare as the place of curing, and only goes for treatment at the last moment. This inappropriate approach can be altered on one hand by conscious influence (education), and on the other hand must be - and can be - influenced by devices which are preventative, that are used for the health maintenance. CARDY is known and accepted by the most endangered group - between 45-50 years - and to whom it recommends the devices' philosophy: this strata looks upon the television remote control, the mobile phone and the blood pressure apparatus as a toy.

This group happily accepts a new electronic devices, that's usage is similar to the accepted and widely used devices. With the help of CARDY the patients themselves can pay attention to their own health and this can be achieved almost without effort.

This method is inexpensive. It is inexpensive for the individual and inexpensive for society. And there can be a enormous increase in preventing illnesses.

Why is it inexpensive? Because - accepting the practice mentioned above concerning unnecessary measurements - 11 of the 12 EKG measurements can be "saved". Of course it saves an additional amount with the treatment of a disease that was diagnosed in time.
